Inner pages ranking above homepage results.

I have seen changes when I am making keyword searches in Google with inner pages of websites appearing when previously their homepage would rank above the inner page. I think this is a recent change with the algorithm which is intended to give users a better result as it is more likely that the category page or product page appears for the term they have been searching for, this is then likely to lead to better conversion rates. It seems a very positive step, and it is something I will continue to look out for.
