• Word Tracker – keyword suggestion tool. Free to use.
• Soovle.com – produces keyword suggestions as you type from Google, Yahoo, Ask, Answers, Wikipedia, Amazon and You-Tube.

Site Maps and Analysis

• XML Site Maps – online site mapping program.
• Audit-My-PC -  promoting security issues has a wide range of free applications to test your website or server.
• Google Analytics – the popular web-site statistical analysis program.
• Google Webmaster Tools -useful information on how Google views your website.
• Backlinkwatch.com – good site for checking the inbound links to a web site. Uses the Yahoo search results.
• Yahoo Site Explorer – finds inbound links to a particular site.

Link Building

• ArticleMarketer.com – good website to publish and syndicate content.
• DirectoryCritic.com – A directory of directories, can find some free links if you have the time.

Firefox Extensions

• Rank Checker – position checking extension application within Firefox
• FlagFox – server county information within your browser
• User Agent Switcher – switch user agents to see what Googlebot sees when viewing a site
• Web Developer Tools – essential tools for checking on-site SEO
• Firebug – useful tool for debugging code, esp. JavaScript

Miscellaneous

• My IP Neighbours – Reverse IP lookup. Find out what sites are hosted on a particular IP address.
• Rex Swain HTTP Reader – See live header information, useful for checking redirects.
• XSS Tester – Tool that checks forms for XSS (Cross Site Scripting) vulnerabilities.
• Xenu Link Sluth – check for broken links and duplicate content problems.

SEO Forums

• SEOChat – the popular SEO forum with sections for optimising Google, Yahoo and MSN search engines.
  
• Webworkshop.net – a good resource for SEO gurus as well as the novice.
